Voices In My head, What Languages

Languages

What languages the voices have
languages of guilt, of coercion
trespass and enticement
those voices in my head

A clarion call to arms
I must defend the earth
it all depends on me
those voices have said

They build a world, it exists
inside this other, you see
they tell me tales, stories even
of those other me’s

I like the way they know me
those voices in my head
and tell me all my steps
In the dance we share

Artist's Description

Thinking about how it might feel to hear voices, wondering if I had, prompted this poem.
