I was able to take this photo of the heron (garza) on the edge of Trinidad in the Beni Region of Bolivia.
The water forms part of what is known as the “Palquitas”, on the south east of town, an area used for a variety of activities including washing clothes and swimming.
I had been up and out of the house early to try and catch the sunrise without much success (wrong location?) but as I drove back home this heron, standing all alone in the calm water, caught my attention.
