Tesla's Nightmare by

Tesla had a plethora of philias (loves) and phobias (hates), including a fear of spherical shapes. He could not bear to see pearl earrings and later in his life could not even use the word “sphere.” It would have been hard not to use words like hemiSPHERE and atmoSPHERE in his presence.
