Artist's Description

This is the place of the Saint Hripsime Church build in 618 – 630 AD in Armenia, Echmiadzan city, where Armenians come to pray for the 1,5 million innocent victims of the genocide in 1915.

I had pleasant message from lovely Addy , she wrote magic words of image

Warmth
It seems so alien to have such clean warmth seeping into my bones
I ignore the odour that the warming of my clothes exudes one cannot have both and warmth is infinitely better at this moment.
I look up it is inconceivable that the sky should continue to be so clear and blue
rain and smog seem more fitting somehow to the hellish existence I struggle to survive
Filtering in my ringing ears the sweet sounds of birdsong missed for so long
the tiny aural focus of bugs bees crickets all basking in the warmth of the new sun
Nature resumes after the interruption of man’s nonsense
Ignoring the pain I turn
there above me a building of sanctuary, of hope
can I reach it? I doubt it
but look
closer
bright cheer of the poppy
Surely nothing will befall me so bad as to crush the delicate strength of such a bloom
If life goes on with such brilliance then I have fought for the right cause
I will sleep now forever
in the peaceful protection
of a poppy
