Deep in Thought by gottheshot

Thank you Primate Art for taking such an interest and such a love of my work in Japan on these lovely animals. I was very fortunate to have come across this place and even more fortunate to try and work out how to get them from where I was staying in the area. The expressions are of course, one of main reasons for photographing these animals. There is the ‘cute factor’ but there is also the ‘emotional factor’. Its the task of the photographer to grab the ‘thoughtful expression’ rather than a ‘sad’ one. Sometimes its the comical one.

Deep In Thought was a photographic triumph of years of ‘average amateur photography’. Its the shot of a lifetime of sometimes near misses and out of focus and clipped from frame shots. Its a just reward :o) to be shared with other photographers who can then think – I want a shot like that and I aspire to get it.
Not as a matter of saying I am great, rather that ’enthusiasm starts the race,
but perserverance ENDS IT. Good luck to all RB, enjoy photography and get the
rewards of your time and effort. Mine with a Nikon D80. With 569 views up to 9/8/10.

    Fabulous shot ! ……. Excellent work ! ……..

  • Thank you JDM :o)
I was one metre away and just focused on his eyes. He was with his mum and his eyes just made me wanna melt. To be that close to one of these creatures is an awesome priviledge, not scaring them in any way was paramount..The detail I got from a 10MP camera is still unbelievable now. One of my own faves :o)

    G’day GTS!

An incredibly good Nature shot of this most interesting primate.
There is a great sense of intimacy with this fine photograph as we are drawn right in to share the moment with the subject all due to your tight composition, excellent point of view and expert photography.
Most interesting and totally enjoyable viewing.

  • Totally BLOWN AWAY by your words Dennis, thats the most wonderful comment I have ever seen on one of my photos. The words ‘expert’ and ‘photography’ together in one sentence on one of my photos is an awesome compliment. Kind regards, Paul

    unbelievable eyes, wonderful image

  • Cheers Anne, I took many many pictures of this little guy while he was sitting still with his mum. Thankfully the shutter going off didnt seem to phase either of them in the least. No glass, no fences, no cages, just open air living for them all, a truly wonderful and safe place for them and incredible photo opportunities for me.

  • Chuffed upon chuffed, what can i say – the monkeys are the stars – truth be told. Cuteness, expressions, allowing me to be that close to them – it was wonderous.
