Artist's Description

A Golden Orb spider faced with the task of fixing it’s web after apparently securing diner.

These beautiful spiders are native to Australia and belong to the genus Nephila which is represented in Australia by five species.
They are named Golden Orbs because, if you look at their webs in the right light, they have a distinct golden colour and so do their egg sacs.
Golden Orb-weaving Spiders are not aggressive and their first response to a threat is usually to run.

Captured near Maldon in Central Victoria using a Canon EOS 450D with a 55 – 250mm lens
Shutter – 1/197
Aperture – f6.4
ISO – 200
