Girl with a Pearl Earring after Jan Vermeer by

A small scale replica of Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring. Oil on canvas 10″ × 12″, 2004.
I have been a huge fan of Vermeer’s works and techniques since my early teenage years and they have had huge influence on me and my painting.
The Dutch masters are the par de excellence of painting, in my opinion.
(The varnished surface and digital photography make it particually difficult to photograph this piece).
This painting sits in my studio as a constant reminder of why I love painting so much.
