Taken in Pembroke, Ontario, Canada on February 1, 2012, with my NIKON D3000 (uploaded in 2013)

M. shutter speed 1/400, F/5.6, ISO 200, focal length 210mm

This is a wooden porch with tall columns bearing the weight of a roof. Between the squares you can see the entrance path – a rubber matting prevents slipping in the winter.

Love my camera and am working to improve. My photos are generally taken with a Nikon D3000 with either an AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens or a 55-300 mm lens. European shots and a number of more recent ones were taken with a Sony Cybershot camera. I have a new IMAC and play with the iPhoto program. I also crop judiciously. Constructive criticism is welcome.

    Great one Beth!

  • Funny shot. It looks very crowded but it isn’t. There is another shot – see my collection called Exteriors – the seventh down on the left hand column – that is taken from the same angle but includes the columns holding up the porch roof. Same sense of being crowded. Glad you find this interesting – I do too!!
