These are very early spring flowers and bloom from April through May. This is a Round-Lobed Hepatica due to the shape of the leaves. The 6 to 10 petals are really sepals. Colours range from blue to pink to white. They are commonly known as Liverwort or Johnny Jump-Ups. (Information from Ontario Wildflowers)

Love my camera and am working to improve. My photos are generally taken with a Nikon D3000 with either an AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens or a 55-300 mm lens. European shots and a number of more recent ones were taken with a Sony Cybershot camera. I have a new IMAC and play with the iPhoto program. I also crop judiciously. Constructive criticism is welcome.

It is – and so tiny. I have seen some very good shots of individual blooms this year. Thanks for looking.

Beth, I have found quite often that the thumbnail does not reveal the actual beauties of a photo, or the unusual element you find once you actually click on it. They probably haven’t even viewed it. Submit it to various groups, and more people will actually see it. :))
