1218 Near Ridgecrest by

The ex-Norfolk & Western Class A leads a Norfolk Southern passenger excursion near Ridgecrest, NC in May 1989. The Class A is an articulated locomotive [2 engines on a single frame]. The lead engine pivots independently of the trailing engine, which had the boiler/smokebox assembly mounted to it.

Thank you. There are a lot of good train-watching spots in the mountains of North Carolina.
