Since I was very young I have been writing, drawing, photographing, sewing, and playing music. My specialty is the violin and I have been a professional musician for over 20 years, playing music from the Baroque all the way through to electronic experimental music and my own compositions. After focusing mainly on music for a while I am reclaiming my visual-artistic side, making photographs which are becoming prints on paper and wearable fabrics. They may also eventually be used as projections during music performances.
A wide variety of things interest me to photograph:
shadows, lightbeams, reflections
optical illusions and distortions
landscapes, urbanscapes
birds and other wildlife in action
flowers and plants, in color and black and white
humans: still portraits or engaged in some action
nudes, both “tasteful” and explicit
Windows have become a theme; aerial photos from my travels have become a theme.
It interests me to play with abstractions of any of the above categories into pure lines, patterns of flow and graphic forms.
I like to see the movement of energy in a composition, as well as to feel a sense of mystery and hidden depth. The darker shots with reflections and shadows are good for that. But I’m also happy to capture a bird in the act of singing its heart out.
