    My Great Grandmother Isobel Maud Cherry was shipwrecked here along with her elder brother & sister on their way from Ireland to their uncle in Sydney in 1870 -72 Her brother became an inland drover and her sister a governess on a property in the Barossa. GGM Isobel was put into service and ended up marrying a gardener who became the curator of the gardens around the lakes in Mt Gambier SA. [she planted all the violets there lol] They had 7 children and she didn’t die until she was 102 She never did make it to Sydney!
    Thank you for showing me a cave that could have been the one they sheltered in!
    I do love the shots you take they not only are of stunning subjects but are so exquisitely composed!

    What fascinating history and what an amazing life your Great Grandmother lived too, thank you for sharing. Couldn’t think of anything worse than being shipwrecked far from home, to arrive abruptly in such an unforgiving area.
