Mirror Lake

One cold foggy winters day in beautiful New Zealand
The milky colour of the water of Sulphur Bay is caused by particles of sulphur being suspended in the water. This sulphur has been produced by hydrogen sulphide gas rising from the lake.
The smells of Sulphur Bay and Lake Rotorua are from sulphurous gases belched from the depths of the Earth and resemble rotten eggs !!
Steam and gases can be heard bubbling and roaring to the surface through vents and pools :))

Varinia, I have to agree with everyone who loves your composition here… it just oozes class. What I also like is how your color space is confined to subtle shades of green/blue both in the rocks and the background. The mist on the hills and the still reflections make this an icon of tranquility that makes me wish I was there. Wonderful take!
