Yosemite Falls
Yosemite National Park – April 2008
Dragged myself out of bed at 7am with a raging temperature and flu in minus temps. Skated with tripod along an ice covered bridge to re-shoot this waterfall after a corrupt CF card, anything for a shot huh?? LOL Came back grinning and saturated, such a beautiful sight, well the waterfall was !! :))

It is certainly a beautiful spot, I was there about 19 years ago. Will have to dig out my old photo albums, and see if there is anything worthwhile. Outstanding shot.

Gorgeous! Nice one.

I really like the perspective, and the way the waterfall seems to dissect the image into 2 distinct, and different, parts. Excellent result, Varinia !!
Ann Garrett

Oh, that’s really stunning! You mastered really well the darkness of the forground and the light at the back, and the raibow. There is so much for the eye, looks really nice large

This shot is well worth the extra effort…we do put ourselves through it to get a great shot, don’t we? But in the end….look what you got…an amazing waterfall and a perfect rainbow!

Am amazed I’m still alive LOL, thanks so much Barb, appreciated :-))

You captured this very well. Between the sun and shade exposure difficulties and the mist and the constant rush of cold air at you, I know you worked hard for this one. Been to this spot except I climbed onto those rocks in the middle of your frame to get a different image than most and to convince my wife that I’m insane.
Globalphotos replied
It was so incredibly slippery, with ice all over the rocks and bridge was impossible to head anywhere else, otherwise I would have been clambering all over. Am bit of a mountain goat with no fear…... insanity helps i think , thank you Adam :-)
Mark Wuttke
Great shot, love the colors. I have a similar shot in the summer with the signs telling the hords of people that climbing on the rocks is unsafe. If it wasn’st raining i would have been up there to.
