Wow, V! This is truly spectacular… not easy to get a unique image from there, but you clearly did! I really like the darker tones, with just enough detail.

I know it can be, but it is still amazing!.. I remember going on 4-wheel drive safari on Rainbow beach going from Fraser Island in Noosa, and the colours of the sand were amazing, soooo colourful! Need to go there again to take photos!

Yes Var, I do know what you mean about the timing and planning. And Yes I also heard about the photographic tour but decided against it, maybe for the same reason’s..lol it was so long ago I don’t remember. And Kudos to you for getting such a time to yourself, the Navajo’s are such lovely people are they not! You should be proud of this one..I haven’t seen one like this..so yes, take it and run baby!..LOL

I love the way you composed the picture with the three tiers coming down to the water’s edge and the fragile lighting just barely showing the lines in the formations. FANTASTIC!! I have to know – did you place the tuft of flower on the ledge ? It adds incredibley to the whole.

You so inspire me to travel Varinia with all your stunning work, perfect shot mate.

Kind of never got to it myself, always meant to, but kind of got involved buying cars and being in bands and then before I knew it married and kids. Still I am blessed to have such amazing places within a few hours of home and one day I’ll do it although now it will probably be when my kids have flown the coop, life’s good ;-) Just hard when horribly talented people like you take every opportunity to rub my nose in it, lol.

Yes family life is truly a blessing, kids are just starting to get old enough for me to share some of the places I love with them too (I’m trying to rub back a bit… is it working? ;b, RU in or approaching or have any desire to enjoy that part of life Varinia?

Minimalism is so hard to pull off in a low key image. But to do it in color while abstracting out the very essence of both color and light… well, this is an awesome creation… add the powerful composition and … hell, I’d be jealous if I even thought I could have pulled it off. It is almost spiritual.

Man I had to climb all the way down to the bottom of this endless pit of a page. Congrats on that alone. You obviously have a winner here by the sheer numbers of comments. The way the sand is pouring just slightly really makes this special. The spoltlighting doesn’t suck either. Great work.
