The Lorelay is a dynamic positioned (uses an elaborate thruster and navigation system to control her position) pipelaying vessel seen here in 2008 in India. She is especially suited to laying deepwater pielines… here she was laying in around 800 metres . I’m not sure her age but it is over 25 years and she’s a friendly and comfortable old girl :-)
A panoramic of a pipe going through her stern, “Layin’ pipe” is also posted here.
Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the raw file so can not put the shooting specs down here.. (has that happened to others out there I wonder..) except to say that I used a Nikon D80 with the 70-200 1:2.8G VR lens.
