Sometimes memories are nothing more than a wall in the darkness that we feel, deep our nails deep into, hoping to taste the intoxication of stains, moments past. Sometimes they sweep upon us as strong as the Divine, the hand of God, bringing us low with a sense of wet eye clarity. Other times, we just dig and cry upon the blank slate of us, the raw truth.

Your painting is beautiful like the passion of days and nights within the heart.

  • And your comment etches deeper meaning into it, dear Paolo! Memories—they do tear us in agony and sometimes, in hindsight, in the realization of culpability, it can be quite unbearable. But raw truth, hard as it is, as merciless as it can feel, is sometimes the greatest mercy. It’s a solid ground to go upward from. New earth. Thank you for such a beautiful and deeply poetic comment, Paolo. You are always see many, many layers beneath the surface.

  • Thank you! I always think of you when I’m doing anything with a red theme! You’ve made that indelible of a mark on me. I could be 80 and see the color and red and think of Anna.
