Carl was a friend who retired and used his time to convert his house inside and out into a piece of eclectic art he created out of garage sale things he picked up for a buck or two. He loved to work with his hands using his creative imagination to piece together a collection of quit odd pieces of “in his eyes” artwork. Carl had a stroke a while back and since his phone has been disconnected, I no longer know if he’s alive or dead or if one of his children helped put him in a nursing home…I drove by his house a while back and a note was on the front door. I did not get out to read it but know his house is no longer lived in because both of his old cars are no longer in the driveway. Carl will be remembered by me as a cat loving rear crazy fun loving artist and his “artwork” speaks of this so well.
I also must mention I put a photo book together with images of Carl’s artwork and asked him to come by to have him see the book and to comment on each page of the book what he felt or thought of his images of artwork. Carl was a real free thinker and his comments in the book really show’s his creative spirit. The book title is: In The Eyes Of The Beholder.
