hibiscus, flower, plants, flora, south florida

My first camera was an Argus C3 given to me by my Uncle. Became interested and over the intervening years I have done photography and stopped, only to start again. Have begun again in the last 4 years with Canon Digital Point and Shoots. I have no training in the arts or photography. I have read some of Ansel Adam’s series, never finished.. I have learned a lot from seeing the fantastic images here.

    Love that rich red.

  • Much appreciated. Of all the hibiscus, the solid red like this one is my favourite. The sunlight was great.
I have a sky-1A filter to protect the lense. Do you think it would be better without it?

Hi Glenn – to answer your question, the flower would be slightly oranger (less pink) without the sky-1a filter. Personally I prefer the rich red here, and of course the filter protects your lens, so I think having it on was a good thing.

  • That is good news. Since 35mm days I’ve used them. What is your thought on a macro lens. Would a neutral density do the job? I have to read up more in your group. Thanks again!
