My first camera was an Argus C3 given to me by my Uncle. Became interested and over the intervening years I have done photography and stopped, only to start again. Have begun again in the last 4 years with Canon Digital Point and Shoots. I have no training in the arts or photography. I have read some of Ansel Adam’s series, never finished.. I have learned a lot from seeing the fantastic images here.

I’ve only ever heard of a Mockingbird in a song. I didn’t know there was really such a bird.
I think the song may have been called Mockingbird Hill?

  • Really, growing up in S, FL they are the most numerous birds. Racous, noisy, dive-bombing you if you go anywhere near the nest. Making all sorts of annoying noises. They are fierce and will practically chase anything. Walking the dog, felt something hit me in the head. Looked around then up, darn bird was hovering waiting for another strike!

We have Magpies that can behave like that at nesting time. :)

  • Dang pesky critters. Now I’m going to have to look up a magpie. Made my aunt break her leg or something like that many a year ago!
