Icarus two. by GlennC

Currently unavailable for purchase

Looking up at this new structure on the old sea front at Blyth, Northumberland I was struck by how it could look as some form of spacecraft from the future! hence the title;this is the name of the ship in one of my favourite films (Danny Boyle’s Sunshine.)

Made using my trusty Canon 5D, fl 17 mm. 6 min exposure@f9. Using a 10 stop nd and 3 stop grad.

Very cool composition, Glenn! Did you take this in mono in camera?

  • Wendi, thank you! as for your question, I never take images as mono ‘in camera’, thats not to say I don’t see images in my head as black and white!!!!

Excellent! .. and a different style /departure from your recent work?? I looked at the image and before I read your description I was thinking Iain Banks …. so works perfectly!! :)

  • Cheers Peter…. as we discussed wanted more strings to my bow hence I have been working on this series for a little time!

Glad you saw the thinking behind my description, but was it not Iain M Banks you were not thinking of ;-)
