Of the two I prefer this image…a sense of depth is enhanced by the row of posts as well the smoothness adds to the overall dreamlike quality. Very nice work imo.

  • GlennC replied

Richard, i agree with you , i wanted to try and enhance the mood and feel of the posts hence the treatment, glad you liked it! thank you.

very cool shot – the horizontal vignetting and the effect of the mist/cloud/fog/water works really well in this!

  • GlennC replied

Berndt, I was trying to make the most of the horizontal banding in the image, which was the reason i used the effect shown. Intially thought i was heavy handed!

  • jgolder

    jgolder

    too cool….excellent in BW

  • marshall calvert IPA

    marshall calve...

doe’s your old man need to comment? well lets start with the very heavy vignetting do we need it? lets compear it to a striptease dancer if she/he came on with no clothes on it wouldn’t be half as good so here we have a sort of unveiling a tease of more to come,
As a young black and white photographer I was told to half close my eyes to see where the tones fell and to see where the light fell so this is a sort of a squint concentrating of view of the central part of the image,
I’m not going to tell you if I like it or not that’s not the point of this comment, it’s do you like it enough to commit it to paper.

PS go on then I’ll say for me it works great
