I’ve had my D90 for a few months now, tonight I took it out at night for the first time. Played with the exposure times, if you have any tips you could pass on please let me know.

This turned out well. The exposures will depend on the effect and darkness you want. It is always recommended that you bracket your shots if you are unsure. At least with digital you can afford to take several shots and experiment for what works in different lighting situations.

I kept the tri-pod in this position & went through every shutter speed. I started from sunset through to complete darkness in the sky. It was well worth the effort in understanding the differnt light levels at differnt stages of natural light. A had a lot of complete white images through to complete black & in the middle some awsome colour & light.
