`When I was a little boy'

www.glennalderson.com

This is my son Cam on Pt Noarlunga Jetty, South Australia.
The title for this image comes from the emotion I feel for this image, it reminds me of me as a little boy.

Photoshop
I divided it in to three sections & changed the contrasts separately to suit each part. Then layerd them back togeather

I had a lot of fun creating this one, I divided it in to three sections & changed the contrasts separately to suit each part. Then layerd them back togeather…..........im glad you liked the outcome :)

THIS ONE WENT INTO FAVORITES, IT ALSO REMINDS ME OF WHEN I WAS 4 AND CRAB FISHING ON THE PIER IN GALVESTON TEXAS. I REMEMBER FINDING A STRAY LINE HANGING OVER THE SIDE THAT NOBODY CLAIMED. SO, I PULLED IT UP ONLY TO BE SCARED OUT OF MY SKIN WHEN I NOTICED THE LARGE CRAB THAT WAS HANGING ONTO THE CHUNK OF MEAT THAT WAS TIED TO THE END OF THE LINE. WELL, AT THE AGE OF 4, A CRAB THAT WAS 10 INCHES ACROSS THE BACK OF IT’S SHELL, LOOKED LIKE A MONSTER. SO I DROPPED THE LINE AND ANOTHER FISHERMAN CAME UP AND ASKED ME IF I WAS GOING TO KEEP THAT CRAB. I SAID NO, SO HE KEPT IT. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. LOL BOB

  • Glenn Alderson replied

A photograph is all about capturing a feeling & momories for both the photographer & viewer. So Im very happy to be able to do this for you…..............I remember some squid fishing trips with my day on the Yourk Peninsula many years ago. I remember looking into the water & waiting for the next catch to arrive on the edge of the jetty.

so much emotion in this ! and I like the treatment. beautifully simple and effective.
never thought about spliting an image to work on different parts. Must be much easier than a selection. thanks for the tip! (it might be useful one day ^^ )

  • Glenn Alderson replied

I love capturing a childs emotion & was amazed how I capture my sons with just a silhouette of his side profile….........Dividing an image into layers & working on each one is a lot easyer. Then merge each one, once your happy with them all.
