Bull moose in the Willow Flats, Grand Teton National Park. I was walking back towards the Jackson Lake Lodge thinking I wasn’t really going to see any moose since the trail was actually a service road loaded with gravel. With all the noise I was making I never expected to see this fellow. He was about 30’ off of the road and walking towards me when I spotted him. Well, he spotted me, too. I followed him along and let him get ahead of me so I would have the sun to my back. When I figured he was about to come on the road I backed off. He stopped, looked at me (here) and I fired off a few images. Then he went on his way. I followed him from a distance until he went back into the willows and disappeared.
Nikon D300, Nikkor 70-300mm VR lens @95mm – yes, he was that close.
