    wonderful image

  • Gary Lengyel replied

Thanks Scott. I just have to figure out how to get rid of the halo effect around the sun. Maybe try some blending…??

Thanks Curtiss. I may have to. Working with Elements has its limitations. Guess I’ll be doing some reading later :)

Fabulous shot but sad that it was as a result of a fire.

  • Gary Lengyel replied

Thank you Dierdre. Lightning strikes are part of the natural process, so I guess we have to deal with them.

such a beautiful capture… the nature of the area & the timing is beautiful…
I see what you’re saying about the halo effect – not easy to adjust to, perhaps looking into altering the midtone levels. However, this would involve cropping that area only & reworking them before blending back into the original image. If not done in this way, to my knowledge would change the levels of the rest of your image & you wouldn’t want to spoil that. Nonetheless, the image is great just the way it is ;)

Thanks. I have a friend who is a real Photoshop geek, so maybe she can show me how to do that.
