Lol Gary – I think it’s just Moose … but Meeces comes from a cartoon, can remember which one … it might be Rocky & Bullwinkle. They look unusual without antlers don’t they – beautiful faces :)

Hi Ann, not a whole lot of post processing. Start by adjusting the Clarity, then Vibrance, then typically lower the saturation. I counter that by raising the contrast a bit, all in Camera RAW. I work with Photoshop Elements, so I then work with adjusting the shadow and highlight lighting, then overall brightness and contrast. No sharpening.

Hi Gary, Congrats on the features with this excellent image! And thanks so much for the notes on processing; with so many people going haywire with saturation, it’s refreshing to see you lower it!! You also had a very delicate touch opening up the shadows; nice overall result!!

HI Ann, thanks so much. I typically find that when you boost contrast – no more than 15%, you need to desaturate. Gives a more natural and pleasing tone.

Aww what a cuties! :) I had recently quite a encounter with these animals. I just could come as near as to touch them. And they weren’t afraid at all! And since it was in Polish natural reserve it’s not that they’re THAT tamed. Beside it was mother with a little one so she could really be a bit upset. :) Really strange they let me get so close to them. :)

They tend to be more skittish here. I try to keep some distance, hence the longer lens :) I’ve also learned how to read their body language. Of course, that can change in an instant!
