I shiver just looking at it, especially from living in South Carolina, where it was 104 two days ago. Great image
Gary Lengyel
Thanks. Yes, it was COLD! Wearing many layers kept me toasty. I looked at your images – very impressive!
Sandy Stewart
Very nice capture! Glad to know you kept toasty warm while out capturing this!

Thank you for the comments (everyone). This was my first Yellowstone winter trip and I can’t wait to get back. Definitely different from summer. And winter is the norm there. Just spectacular.

Congrats on the MARCH FEATURE for “Antlers, Racks, and Other Horned Animals*
Gary Lengyel replied
Thank you Jake. And from you I found out about the feature. Cool!!! No, I live in northern Colorado. I went to Yellowstone with the Joseph Van Os tour last winter. Fabulous trip and I would very much like to go with them again. The pro photographer leading the trip, Mike Francis, was great. This image was taken at Old Faithful.

Amazing! The feeling of cold comes across really well and those two bison look like they are fighting the biting wind. You must have been frozen!.

Thank you. Yeah, I was cold, but very bundled up. And it was worth it!

great shot … I’d have been glad it wasn’t the rutting season ..

Thank you Alan. The cold and snow slows them down as they want to conserve energy. They just want to eat and try to stay warm.
