I’ve had a passion for photography for many years and always strive to ‘raise the bar’. Living in Colorado gives me the opportunity to pursue my passion of landscape and wildlife photography. I’ve been a 35mm film shooter for years, and made the switch to digital 4 years ago, and never looked back.
I’m a Nikon shooter and have been since my early days with my F2 (dating myself here). I now shoot with a D200 and D300, using a Tokina 12-24 pro XT, Nikkor 24-85, 18-200, 70-300 (VR) and 200-400 f4g ED-VR lenses.
You can usually find me in my “back yard”, Rocky Mountain National Park. I live close by and am usually there once a week. When the elk rut occurs in the fall you’ll find me there 2-3 times a week. I also love to visit Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. A June 2008 trip to Glacier was a real treat.
And finally, I’m always striving to learn how to improve my images. Feel free to comment on my work and ways they could be improved.

No, I’m not leaving the bubble. I’m off for a few days to Grand Teton National Park. The weather promises to be great, my cameras and bear spray is ready, and I hope to capture some great …
Do we return to the same location over and over because we simply like the place, or is it to get that perfect image?
Thank you to the anonymous buyer for their purchase of Bison Keeping Warm, as a mounted print. I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Seasons Greetings! Gary
I want to thank everyone who voted for Bison Keeping Warm in the latest challenge. I am really humbled. This is such a wonderful group with many great artists and images. Thanks again!!!
Use a polarizer and neutral density filter to reduce the amount of light hitting you exposure meter. This will slow your shutter speed to help create the blurred effect of your moving water images.
