This view from Brainard Lake looks west toward the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area and the Continental Divide. On a typically cold July morning up at ten thousand feet, the first benevolent rays of sunlight kiss the tops of Mount Toll (left, 12,979 feet) and Paiute Peak (right, 13,088 feet).

The photo was made using a Canon EOS 50D digital body, an EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro lens, at f/9 for 1/4 second at 100 ISO.
