From the beautiful to the spectacular: on this blessed fall day in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park, an overnight, early-season snowfall changed everything. This image was captured on the Dream Lake trail, halfway between Nymph and Dream lakes at approximately 9800 feet. The view looks southeast toward Glacier Gorge, with (from left to right) Storm Peak, Longs Peak (14,259 feet) and Chiefs Head Peak rising above into the clouds. The broad, spherical summit of Thatchtop Mountain (12,668 feet) is seen on the right, with the Loch Vale drainage beneath it and extending to the west.
