One of the magnificent statues in the horribly neglected Mount Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA. Mount Moriah is a massive Victorian Cemetery loaded with history and magnificent pieces of art, all being lost to vines, bushes and rapidly spreading tree seedlings.

It had been neglected for decades, its ownership in dispute and the control of the cemetery is now being sorted out by the courts. Sadly, it has also been used as a dumping ground for trash and garbage, but the community and volunteers from around the area have been putting in time, effort and love to try to slowly bring it back to the glory it merits. It’s going to be a long process due to the size of the cemetery and the condition it’s in. This beautiful sculpture is one of hundreds to be found amid the thick overgrowth.
