RED POWER is an original acrylic painting on cardboard, 45 cm / 65 cm I did a few years ago. I used bold colours and powerful brush strokes, as I do in all my paintings in order to create a lasting visual expression.

Sort of Willem de Kooning with action in the brush strokes, but rather in the finding of form than in a destructive thrashing of paint to cross the woman out. Nice torso work. I like the unfinished feel upper left, keeping the painting fresh and spontaneous and not overworked.

The green and dark line right up the center of her torso looks like it splits off into a yellow flower. There’s a darker yellow petal above the right breast and a lighter one above the left. The top petals disappear as you go higher. I’m lovin’ it.
I like the placement of the blue in this as well as the touch of green and the little yellow strokes on the upper right thigh. As others have said, this is an emotive and beautiful piece.
