There in the corner of my eye
Your eyes
are seeking me seeing me hunting me
Our feet move
between the others, around the immovable,
gradually towards each other
drawn forever
inexplicably
inescapably
to you

Slowly your hand encircles my waist
catching me to you
Your other hand catches my wrist
and draws my claws from your face
extended away for safety
captured

Your hips push mine
I step back in escape
Again your hips push against mine
Again I retreat
Once more you push
One more step to escape
Then you pull me across
and drop me backwards
so that I must grip at you or fall

I stare up at you
trying to find the answer why
laying helplessly at your mercy
and become ensnared in your gaze

And then begins the heated dance
of advance retreat ensnare escape
held close thrown away
and always always the burning desire
for love
