It is common to come across herds of horses on the reservation. These horses roam several sections of land and never see a halter. Folks around here, refer to these horses as range stock. I was visiting the Crow Reservation and this bunch were keeping the grass down on the Custer Battle Field which is located on the Crow Reservation. Taken not to far from Garryowen, Montana, USA. I was inspired by the history of the area and the view of the land. Canon EOS-7D, DSLR, Tamron 70-300mm lens, focal length 300mm.

So peaceful considering the history of this place. Love the way the line of horses zigzag the eye into the scene.Interesting that the town is called Garryowen after the 7th cavalry’s official tune supposedly adopted by General Custer.
