It is common to come across herds of horses on the reservation. These horses roam several sections of land and never see a halter. Folks around here, refer to these horses as range stock. I was visiting the Crow Reservation and this bunch were crossing the Little Big Horn river not to far from Garryowen, Montana, USA. I was inspired by the action of the horses. Canon EOS, DSLR, 70-300mm lens, focal length 300mm.

What a perfect place to see a buckskin pinto, crossing the Little Bighorn – it is reported that the great Ogalala Sioux war chief “Crazy Horse” rode a horse of this colour – a descendant perhaps? Well, we can dream :)
I can’t wait to eventually make a trip to the USA & visit these locations … gorgeous work
