Rose your shadow
To kiss me dark and
Cool and I took it
Eloquently upon the
Switch of off
Within the nightlight –on
Black liquid dressed
Such blankness in ecstasy
Pressing you down piece by
Piece – criminal sincerity
I folded us tight, slipping
The heave of thoughts
Inside its pallid burial
Licking the stickiness
Of retreat
To sit poised at
My desk
As my fingertips drummed
In sounds of no other days
Its four cornered
Slimness spoke the rest
And my pen swayed in
- Near death.

There’s a kind of “backwards” lilt to this – as if the thought came and then the verbal images to elucidate it. I know I’ve not said that properly but that’s just what it feels like. And it’s perfect for this particular piece – which has the flavor of…afterthought? Anyway, I really like it a bunch!

God you are an amazing poetess. You have so many turns here that give real colour and spice, criminal sincerity, black liquid dressed…. I thoroughly enjoyed this and will have to frequent your pages more often ;)
