I did not want to let you go
Like an unmapped land
Away

But as I had patience for your
Words
You had nothing right to
Say

I did not want to remember you
As a dagger to my voice

But as I spoke to other men
It seems I had no choice

Oh love I did not want you, wept
Like a memory poignant, severe
But as I went to hear your plea
You had another, there

And as much as love can bear such pain
Bright apples keep a worm
I made a pie, quite hauntingly
