lying on the couch, wednesday

Inside my eyes
Then changing
To tangerine
Like summer days
When sidewalks
Felt like roads to
Nowhere and everywhere
As I loved you
Always you
And I could still be
Some sugar plum dancer
Or beauty queen
Anything that had a ring
And of course, your wife
And now I’m this woman
Twirling in the mirror
I’m sorta the same
I adore my last name
I still tie dreams
With silver strings
I love being such a strange-strange thing
True love melted so
Many questions
No more drowning in
Not – to – mentions
But I’m still not so sure
Of all this growing up
I’ve never known what
To expect
And I don’t
- Not even yet
I jump over
The moon most everyday
While a peach cobbler baby
Giggles on my lap
I kiss watermelon sticky- ness
-For a snack
I love my life like a story book
Some chapters were bad
But still, I’m hooked
I remember when my Grandma said
No matter how old you get
You’ll still feel like a young girl
I never knew if that was true
And now – I almost do.
I twirl

Of course you do!, that little girl inside still needs to twirl and revel in being a girl, his girl. :)

This is lovely. My Gran said the same. The secret girl at heart never ages. x
