Adventure can be physical or thought
The dare is to use what ever you’ve got
To climb up a mountain or sail out to sea
To write down a song or paint for a fee
Both have some risk and challenge you’ll find
One in the body the other in mind.

This is the way I view life.

Art doesn’t start out with shape or character. It starts out as a lonely thought in your head. The type of thought you can’t go to sleep with, which has to be extinguished. To do that, you give it form, depth, dimension and as it grows, life.

I use a variety of techniques and mediums in my work including wood stainers and coloured varnishes but principally my main vein is in oil paints on canvas

Before I create a work of graphic art I first paint on canvas using oils, or on board using a variety of mediums, I find for me, that this is the best way to explore the colours dimension and shape.

Although I don’t do many exhibitions (I can never seem to hold on to enough pieces for an exhibition, which is a good thing, right?) I was very pleased to be invited to exhibit some of my work at the Glasgow School of Art.

My subject matter is wide and varied but my main objective is to try and capture a visual reality by reflecting the transient effects of colour and light.

Art is an abstract concept which man has tried to define since the first cave paintings
and I am very happy to be following in those footsteps.

When I’m not creating paintings I like to write Poetry and compose Songs (I call it expressionism art)

If your eyes like what they see your heart will feel the beat.
