This is a flower that was growing in one of the little gardens in my town of Amherst, Virginia, USA. We have a Garden Club out here that uses up all the empty spaces they can find along the roadsides and they plant wonderful flowers all over town. I have no idea what type of flower it is…but it looks exotic to me. If anyone knows what type it is…let me know. :))

Preferred common name – Candia tulip ‘Lilac Wonder’
Family – Liliacea
Tulipa are bulbous perennials with characteristic flowers, in a wide range of colors in spring. Miscellaneous tulips include all species and hybrids not otherwise classified. Lilac Wonder is a perennial bulb to 25cm in height, with glossy green foliage and solitary mauve-pink flowers, paler within and with a large yellow zone at the base
