Defininition in the Websters Dictionary – Any of numerous freshwater crustaceans usu. Much smaller than the related lobsters.

I found this little guy along with a few others stuck in someones trap at a river where I sometimes take my dogs in Amherst, Virginia, USA. I got them right out of the trap…took a few shots…and set them free. Hope no one was too hungry that night. :)) Taken with my Kodak Easyshare DX3900.

aww.. Bravo Ginny!!!! Hope he lives a long life now and avoids any future traps! ♥

  • LOL I hope so too. There were about 4 of them in the trap along with two teeny catfish babies. They all got set free! LOL I tried to get a few shot of the catfish but they just squirmed too too much!

Wow, this is awesome! The colors and sharpness are stunning!

  • Thanks Connie! And thanks for the favorite too. I took these guys out of the trap and put them up on top of the cement and stone bridge there. He wasn’t too happy. Maybe he was happier when I put him back in the water. :))

Excellent shot Ginny. And I do eat them :))) Here in Sweden we have crayfish party every year in August. We have some kind here in the rivers too but they are very expensive so most people buy frozen crayfish from Louisiana and from Turkey.

  • I haven’t eaten any yet….but I love lobster. I suppose it’s like a smaller version. I just felt bad for them seeing them stuck in that trap! :( Thanks for all the info.
