This is a head shot of a young Whitetail doe born in 2008, out by where I live in Amherst, Virginia, USA. I watched this little one grow along with 2 little twin bucks. This girl lost her mother due to an eye injury when she was still tiny and covered with spots. She would tag along with the twins and their Mom, but the Mom of the twins would not let her nurse. Even so…she did quite well as you can see by this image. She had a fuzzier coat than most of the deer out here had ….so I called her Fuzzy. She was a very curious and funny little doe. It was awesome seeing her and the twins and their Mom every day. They continued to come all through the winter and I would go out and feed them chopped apples and corn. Sometimes peanuts. :)) I was surprized to see snow coming down the morning I took this shot…3-13-09. This was taken just after it stopped snowing and the deer came out. Fuzzy was still a little wet in this shot….but just as cute as ever.
Taken with my Canon Powershot SX110 IS

Dedicated to you my beautiful little Fuzzy. I hope you are still out there somewhere.

    What a beautiful capture – - – WONDERFUL!!!

  • Thanks so much Lori! This is my favorite deer. She was born out here last year and lost her mother. She followed a female deer I call Grace and her two little twins all throughout last year and over the winter. All 4 came every day. Still coming! This little one has her mishaps…but she is ok so far. I can always tell her by her torn right ear. She is a sweet little thing. I’m glad you like her. Thanks for adding her to your favorites.:))

Beautiful capture, she looks so sweet :)

  • Thanks! She really was a sweet little deer. She lost her mother as a young fawn and would come here with another Mother deer who had twin bucks. They would try to stop her from eating sometimes. But she was persistant. :))
