This was taken at the Virginia Safari Park in Natural Bridge, Virginia, USA about an hour from where I live. A variety of animals roam free there on 180 acres. The Axis’s natural range is India. They grow about 3 to 3 1/2 feet tall and weight from 145 to 250 pounds. They are also called chital, which means “spotted” in Hindustani. They keep their spots throughout their lifetime. Their natural diet is grass and leaves, and they can destinquished by their bright white throat patch. Taken with my Canon Powershot SX110 IS
