This is a White Elk that was at the Virginia Safari Park in Natural Bridge, Virginia, USA. I have never seen a White Elk before. I know it’s not an albino since it has dark eyes and dark nose pigment. So I’m guessing it’s Leucistic. I looked in the Wikipedia to see if I could find some info on White Elk….but there was nothing.
Anyway….here she is in all her glory! I can just imagine how gorgeous she is in the sun. This was taken on a damp rainy day with my Canon Powershot SX110 IS
The Virginia Safari Park is a beautiful 180 acre free roaming area for lots of animals. They are used to seeing cars drive through, so you are able to capture some nice images there. This one tried to poke her head in the window….as seen below. :))
