Male Black Buck Antelope
I took this shot at the Virginia Safari Park in Natural Bridge, Virginia. They have a 180 acre area where you can drive through, with all sorts of animals that roam around free. The Black Buck Antelope is naturally found in the semi desert plains and the open forests throughout India. Males stand about 32 inches at the shoulder and weight about 90 pounds, and can reach speeds of about 45 mph. This guy just wanted a nice rest. LOL

Hi ginny,
I just saw your shot got onto 2even- toed” and thought “that must be ginny york out there again!”I think you overcame the most difficult problem with these long antlers- getting them in a suitable frame to be shown! Ihave often had this photographic problem and i think that you really went to top of the class with this one!
alan
Ginny York replied
Thank you so much Alan. I really appreciate your comments and your obvious confidence in me. Really though…I think I just got lucky with this one. This guy was taking a rest (lucky for me) and in the perfect spot. I didn’t have to do a thing to the background of this shot. This is just how it was when I took it. He was in the perfect spot. I just had the driver of the car pull up a little in order for the horns to be againt the darkest spot in his background. Aren’t his horns gorgeous?? I was pleased when I saw how it came out. Thanks so much again Alan. Your comments mean alot to me.
