This is really beautiful Gini! What amazing clouds and a beautiful landscape.

  • Hi Lynda , thanks! It’s across from the Carrara weekend markets G.C.[.huge like Vic markets under cover] Where I had a ‘shop’ for 20 years ,looking out all day[cos it was boring there] this is what I could see. This day when the storm hit , the sky was jet black and the rain on the tin/steel roof, was deafening, thunder and lightning also quite terrifying really.. It had been a very hot humid day and I was watching it closing in closer and closer as I was next to double open doors. if left open everything would have been soaked.. I took a photo but only had a little bitty film camera so had to do a lot from memory, actually this has been rolled up for years , I had to iron the canvas to get the kinks out. The mountains are where we go to the waterfalls and rainforest. Springbrook.

Love the wide view and the impression of great expanse…really lovely work…

  • Gosh thanks Janis. Glad I took it out from the cupboard. Expanse is what we have here…… lots of flood plains so can’t be built on. it used to be swamp land lots of paperbarks trees I guess. It’s been cleared over the years, used to be cane farms too when first white men took over….water table is not far from the surface, the ocean is only a couple of miles away.
