Lovely birds … generations of TFs often come to nest near our house. Usually a mother and two chicks, with dad keeping lookout on a higher branch.

  • thanks Matt I used the pic I have here.ah so that’s why one is always just a way above the others, we usually only get the one chick.I wonder how long they live?

Ginny, re lifespan - Google came up with “up to 12 years”, “10 years in captivity”, and “18 years in the wild and 20 years in captivity”. I stopped looking at the third site. I don’t know who to believe :)

  • thanks Matt I usually think to look there.Forgot !
