So true Ginny . I recently bought some new cushions for my sofa at an upmarket store and I blurted out to the wide eyed salewoman that all my other ones had paint on them !! Only an artist would understand ! Thanks for the laugh ..(Gillian )
gillsart, about 1 month ago
Forgot to add that the cushions are wipeable and reduced to $8 each so I am not too proud to grab a BARGAIN !!

I haven’t graduated to some of these yet! – I try to retire my ‘paint’ clothes from public, but still ruin the occasional good t-shirt. Fascinated by the one about the room – lying there thinking about how to capture the half-dark tones.. now there’s an inspiration in the making..

oh love your answers! Knew you’d all relate! an artist friend sent this to me this morning, made my day.

ginnymac in reply to JakkiO’s comment, about 1 month ago
oh Jakki what about DOG HAIR too! and I used to used glitter on tee shirts and it would get onto watercolour paper , the framers had to check all the time as one speck would show up once the glass was on,and not easy to get rid of.
ginnymac in reply to gillsart’s comment, about 1 month ago
ooh lovely sounds nice, have you thought of hand painted cushions? every piece of nightwear I have has paint on it! I noticed a new top had yellow’orangystuff on the front which I thought was egg and I though ‘oh yuck, how awful ’.... haha okay s’only paint!
ginnymac in reply to chasingsooz’s comment, about 1 month ago
haha sooz, I can watch a show on t.V. and have no idea what it’s about as I am just looking at the background paintings or if a cartoon checking out how they are drawn
chasingsooz, about 1 month ago
Me too Ginny … Sometimes the best part of a movie is how they decorated the sets. Especially when I see loose charcoal sketches framed, I think … gee .. I must get around to doing that.
Right now my house is an absolute mess as I am painting masks for a small two month exhibition that starts in September. I keep going off track and starting other works … acrylic paintings … pastels .. watercolours .. and for the first time – oils. Nothing I finish because the exhibition is my priority.
I have about ten masks completed and another 14 to go … plus I am working on a couple of canvases and if time – a full sculpture just for fun. I need to stay on track and stay off Red Bubble … but it is so addictive lol
ginnymac, about 1 month ago
oh yes I must go too ! oh wish I had some elves!
re masks do you know Michael Taylors
http://www.artoncairncross.com.au/michael/index.html
chasingsooz, about 1 month ago
Just quickly checked him out …. bugger ! He’s brilliant! I am not doing anything like that lol. Just traditional carnevale masks, photos and paintings. The only reason I am even doing it is because the owner of the art space has dreamed of hanging masks so I am making that dream come true.
Michael Taylor is amazing though .. thanks for the link.
