A friend or ours was diagnosed with fibro myalgia several years ago.She has since learned who her true friends are.Good on you for bringing this terrible condition to peoples attention

Thanks so much Gini for this wonderful attention getter. Those of us who suffer from CFS/ME are so misunderstood … public awareness can only help. When I woke up this morning I could hardly move!!! but I’m a bit better now… xx :)

thanks Peter those like you are rare to find . Most like me, find it so much easier to just withdraw from life, saves so much discussion, it’s just so hard to explain, especially when even a phone conversation can send most of us to bed to rest for days.

There are so many medical conditions that aren’t understood by the general public, simply because no-one is aware of them. You are doing great work here.

thanks Dave, it’s very nice to have Redbubble to put this up, this time last year I was contemplating doing one by hand.Soooo much easier to do a compter one.
Not only not aware, but amazingly almost everybody thinks It won’t happen to me! This happened to me in just a few minutes 15 years ago,a small Sunday afternoon nap, I woke up an hour later and I couldn’t get off the bed felt like a truck had run over me. [I and 40.000 in Oz )

Our daughter has Asperger’s Syndrome and this is only recently becoming recognised, so I hope ME and CFS soon enter public awareness too.

I wasn’t aware there was an awareness day. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It’s becoming such a common diagnosis of course there’d have to be a day for it. Interesting that you mentioned people thinking it wouldn’t happen to them. My experience was different. I heard the same thing over and over.. more times than I could believe;
“Chronic fatigue huh? Yeah I reckon I’ve got that.”
If only they knew it’s far more devastating than being a bit tired.

oh its’ a real @@##$% So sorry artlien deepest sympathy I wouldn’t wish it on anybody!Everytime I meet a new victim I get so teary.

today/this week,actually , the bp tabs I am on are,so strong [ one side effect for me ] so I am a wipe out,.trying hard to comment! amazing how many artists here are sufferers.

ooh so sorry for you Rhonda my doc says I have it as well. his wife and doc collegue have it too ruined their lives.runs in families and is dormant until something traumatic happens…. the pain [mine] comes and goes,a bit like CFS or ME somedays not too bad.then I think I was imagining it all. I put the shirt up on the support website [in Aus] and they have it in their newsletter. also the I’m notcrazy forum is a great help here.although it’s very quiet these days we have a few members from USA.but it’s ‘nice’ to know we aren’t alone like we are made to feel !
